Country celebrates 7th Ayurveda Day

The 7th Ayurveda Day is being celebrated worldwide today (October 23) at a grand scale. Dhanawantari Jayanti has been celebrated since 2016 as Ayurveda Day to promote the most ancient and well-documented system of medicine.

The main event is held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, as various programs are organized across the country with the support of all ministries. This year, Indian missions/Embassies are also organizing programs in their respective countries.

The main event is marked by the presence of the Chief Guest Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, presided over by Minister of Ayush, Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarabananda Sonowal, MoS External affairs and culture Meenakshi Lekhi, MoS for Ayush and WCD, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and other dignitaries.  

This year’s Ayurveda Day is being celebrated with the theme “Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda” to propagate the benefits of Ayurveda to the larger and grass root community. Keeping in view of the theme, the various activities were conducted under 3-Js i.e. Jan Sandesh, Jan Bhagidari, and Jan Aandolan during the six-week-long events from September 12, 2022.

Ayurveda Day 2022 celebration was executed as a whole government approach. With the active support of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Woman and Child Development, Ministry of Consumer affairs, food & public distribution, and other Ministries. The Ministry of External Affairs, with the support of its mission/embassies, has taken Ayurveda Day 2022 to the global stage.

All the Ayush institutions/Councils have actively taken part in organizing various programs in the last six weeks.
